Yesterday, several things happened in a chain of events that leaves me smiling and with nothing else to say than: wow.
First of all, Nashtuk dinged 7o. I promptly got her to the trainer to respec (there have been 7-8 points I was longing to test in other talents for quite a while). Of course she still is BM-specced.
Next thing I was heading to Shadowmoon Valley to get a flying mount. Yay! I was tempted to let her buy the fast one right away, as I certainly do have the money. But - and you can call this my slight RP-lunacy - I always feel that my alts have to earn their successes themselves. At least up to a certain point. So I think Nash needs to earn around 1500g herself until I will let the other chars sponsor the rest of her fast flying mount.
I am not on a RP server and I don't RP "in public", but there is always some role-playing going on in my head when I am soloing. Which I am doing most of my online time. So I have a policy of how to split up the money among my alts. As I do have so many of them, money just keeps flowing in. I would be really interested if any of you experience the same? If you do have many alts in their end-levels (I guess you need to have at least three at 70), is gold an issue?
So far, I have bought the lowest riding skill nine times, the fast riding five times, fly riding skill five times and fast flying once. And of course I am not an AH-nun. I buy stuff I am interested in every now and then. I could try to total up the gold spent on riding, but... yeah... you know... numbers, what do they really tell you. ;)
But here I am, going on and on about how fabulous my ingame gold total looks, pulling an Uncle Scrooge-y, when I actually wanted to tell you about something that happend after I got the flying mount with Nashtuk.
I would have even let this part out, if the flying mount wasn't so neccessary to reach the Skettis plateau.
Because this is obviously where I went next. No, no, not to do the dailies. I had a far more better reason. I wanted to do some fishing.
So up I flew and out there was my fishing pole, me enjoying the friendly scenery. Unfortunately, that scenery also included not so friendly others. Before I really knew what happend, I was fighting against two water-elementals PLUS one of the big big elite trees. As I had reached 70 just before, I of course had gotten myself a new bow. A new bow that was skilled only to about 200, because I had been using crossbows all the time. Yay. And in my other hand, I was holding - yep - the fishing pole. Yay again. Great damage coming from me, I can tell you. Shanti really did a great job, and we (or better said: her) managed to kill the two elemtals and half of the tree (now that sounds funny) before Shanti died (for those who don't know: my owl). I hardly had enough time to shed some tears (I hate it, hate it, hate it so much when my pet dies!), than preparing to face my own death (there is really nowhere you can run to hide in Skettis without aggroing more) when out of the blue sky, a true hero descended.
My first thought of course was something like: Yeah, alright, brave alliance come and kill the rest of my five percent life so you can cheer over my corpse.
For normally, my expercience with that other side - being on a PvP-server - is quite negative. I actually learned to hate being on a PvP-server. There have been peaceful encounters before, but only on very rare occasions and hardly never when in such a situation (meaning: very easy kill).
But this is what happened: the human priest descended, feared the evil tree and successfully downed it in no time. Then, there was that small fraction of time when I still expected her to kill me right after looting the tree, and right! there she went, mind-trapping me.
But what is this? A heal? A buff? Another buff?
Of course, this also has happened before, but it is so very very rare I was astonished. I am more used to being jumped over a cliff on such occasions.
Anyways, I properly thanked her, bowed and: resumed fishing. Only after rezzing Shanti that is. I had my azure whelpling with me all that time, my usual fishing company as you can also see in the screen in a posting below, and now the most extraordinary thing happend: the she-priest also started fishing, also putting out an azure whelpling.
We congratulated each other via emotes and then I put out my grimson red whelpling. So did she. We cheered, we laughed, I put out my miniwing. Out there was another.
I don't cary around more than three pets at a time, simply for lack of space, but she didn't seem to have that problem. Out she pulled the most amazing mini-pets one after another.
As I didn't have any more to show off with on Nash, I asked her to wait and logged in my husband's mage. I love to show off with his possessions. *g* She didn't seem to have the green or the dark whelpling and of course she didn't possess the Magical Crawdad (this seems to be a really hard to obtain pet). At this time, I got a whisper from a hordy who obviously was in contact with the alliance priest. And he invited me over to join them in teamspeak. Thus I did. It was so much fun! I think the male horde player also had his fun, because we two women (of course the other collector and peaceful fisher was also female) giggled quite a lot and went on and on about the pets.
Honestly, this is the first time, that I've gotten in true contact with an Alliance player on Frostmourne. It feels weird. Totally.
And another great thing comes out of it: I know now somebody whom I can ask for the pets that I can't obtain because they are sold on alliance's vendors only. I started right ahead with asking for the very beautiful moths you can get in the Exodar. The alliance priest went there without hesitation, bought them for me and shipped them over via the AH in Booty Bay. Yay! The white moth now is my very favorite pet! :)
I simply had to share these events with you! And now I have to get to warcraftpets. com to check out all the alliance pets I want to have. *g*
Did any of you have similar experiences while being on a PvP-server?
